POSITION SUMMARY:
Pointsmith is seeking a highly qualified Screen Press Operator to oversee and run their assigned press with speed and accuracy, adhering to established workflows. They will collaborate with a Screen Press Helper and possess a strong understanding of press operation and basic maintenance procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to the established workflow patterns to ensure timely completion of jobs on the assigned press.
- Interpret job ticket requirements and set up the press accordingly. * * Maintain production speeds and waste standards on the assigned press. * * Recognize potential problems with the press or printing process and alert the Printing Supervisor.
- Assist with preventative maintenance procedures for the assigned press as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Keep the work area clean and organized near the assigned press. * * Perform data collection and inventory control tasks through Pointsmith’s ERP system as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to all Pointsmith safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 to 5 years working experience operating screen printing presses (offset printing experience a plus).
- Strong understanding of screen printing processes, equipment, and materials.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Solid command of English; fluent or functional Spanish a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality production.
- Willingness to learn and contribute across various projects, potentially including other departments, to ensure maximum efficiency during all phases of the workload.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of press operation and finishing requirements (focusing on assigned press).
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions in the vicinity of the assigned press.
- Possess the ability to comprehend and follow written instructions effectively. * * With or without an accommodation, must be able to life and handle 40 lbs. while pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and twisting.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime, including weekends.
- Must be able to pass an Ishihara Color Blind Test.
- Some experience with Six-Sigma manufacturing processes (e.g., providing TAKT time of presses) a plus.
