Job Overview
The Math Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted support to students struggling with mathematical concepts, skills, and problem-solving. The interventionist works collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement strategies to help students achieve grade-level proficiency in math.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university
Level Two NMPED Teacher License w/math endorsement
Prior teaching experience
5 years of experience teaching mathematics or providing intervention support in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of math curriculum standards and effective instructional practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university
Level Three-A-NM Instructional Leader License
Skills/Aptitudes:
Strong organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication abilities; capacity to maintain professionalism and confidentiality concerning students, staff, parents, and school matters.
Responsibilities

- Maintains accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Uses data from state assessments, classroom performance, and teacher recommendations to identify students in need of math intervention.
- Designs and delivers small-group or one-on-one instruction tailored to students' specific needs.
- Provides differentiated support to reinforce core math skills and address learning gaps.
- Utilizes evidence-based instructional practices and interventions aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with regular classroom instruction.
- Participates in team meetings, such as Response to Intervention (RTI) or Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), to discuss student progress and plan next steps.
- Communicates regularly with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and intervention outcomes.
- Stays current on best practices in math intervention and attends professional development sessions as required.
- Provides training and resources to teachers to support effective math instruction in the classroom.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Pay: $64,863.00 - $77,136.00 per year
