What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Operator position at Polar Beverages?
Overview:
Responsible for completing the cleaning and sanitation of production machinery, process equipment, and buildings in adherence to the strictest standards of health, safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all cleaning schedules and tasks are completed on time and maintained according to company standard operating procedures.
- Use only appropriately approved chemicals safely to clean equipment
- Ensure that all cleaning and sanitization equipment is used correctly and only on designated areas.
- Cleaning work to encompass sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing machinery and filling equipment, cleaning of conveyors, warmers, surface areas and other areas deemed appropriate.
- Pest-control procedures.
- Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
- Work with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
- Complete required paperwork and reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Routes reports to designated plant personnel.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- The Sanitation Operator will follow the facilities food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results.
- Must understand the company’s commitment to food, safety, quality, and continuous improvement as outlined in the Polar Beverages Safety and Quality Policy and to understand the responsibility for carrying out the outlined principles as an expectation of the job.
- Must understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and to ensure GMP compliance of fellow employees.
