What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Designer position at Polaris Engineering?

I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

· Performs instrumentation design

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilizes AutoCAD for the production of electrical/instrument design deliverables
Uses professional discretion in developing layouts and specifications
Performs field work and data gathering with minimal supervision
Delegates work to Junior Designers and Drafters for project support
Generates bulk material take-offs for instrument/electrical materials
Develops plan drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, red-line P&ID's and BOM's for estimating final design packages
Supports development of Junior Designers
Some minor electrical design experience will be required; this includes 240 VAC down to 24VDC

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting and design in the petroleum and chemical industry sector
Associates degree (2-year degree) in computer drafting/design preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD design, drafting, and software packages
Able to lift 40 pounds
Available for short-term travel
Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card
