Responsibilities
Patient care : LPNs provide basic care, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and administering medication
Patient support : LPNs help patients with daily tasks like eating, dressing, and bathing
Patient communication : LPNs communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals about changes in a patient's health or behavior
Patient monitoring : LPNs monitor patients' health and wellbeing, and report any needs to other healthcare professionals
Patient education : LPNs explain treatments and procedures to patients and their families
Bandaging : LPNs apply and change bandages to ensure patients are healing properly
Patient mobility : LPNs help patients move from beds, wheelchairs, and gurneys
Patient record keeping : LPNs update patient records in a confidential manner
