Polaris Windows and Doors is seeking candidates for a Foreman in our Austintown, OH plant. The foreman will work to ensure the productivity of daily window and door operations. The position will work closely with the Management team to determine hiring needs, quality standards, deadlines for specific tasks, and safety protocols to enforce among workers.
To maximize efficiency and productivity, it is crucial for a Foreman to possess analytical skills for handling unexpected issues and delays while resolving any problems that may arise.
Job Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for essential job duties including, but not limited to:
- Manage projects onsite and host meetings with teams of Line Workers to establish daily line unit volume, safety procedures, and line cleanliness standards.
- Participate in quality initiatives by making sure windows are within the quality standards set by Polaris Windows and Doors and AAMA;
- Ensure all corporate Safety policies are implemented on their assigned production lines;
- Ensure production lines are clean and safe for all employees;
- Communicate with line employees and administration to develop a positive working relationship;
- Manage employees, plant, machinery and equipment to improve efficiencies;
- Daily line audits and finished product inspections to make sure product meets industry standards;
- Effectively delegate tasks to lower-level managers, and line workers;
- Ensure all new employees or current employees are trained to work multiple positions on production lines;
- Provide clear orders, explain complex information to line workers and discuss technical details with other Managers;
- Meet deadlines and ensure manufacturing orders are completed on time;
- Work with Management on implementing a 5 S program on all production lines;
- Report the amount of scrap that comes off each of their assigned production lines to Purchasing department
Requirements
- Foreman experience in a Manufacturing Plant is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Problem-solving skills
- Conflict-resolution skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to instruct and train personnel
- Knowledge of OSHA and other local and federal safety standards
- Working knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office – Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Internet Explorer

Pay: $24.00 - $28.80 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
