What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Cadet position at POLICE DEPARTMENT?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or certified GED required.
2. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3. Must be 21 years of age by the graduation date of the Basic Peace Officer Course.
4. Must meet requirements specified in TAC, Title 37, Part 7, Chapter 217, Rule 217.1 regarding criminal history.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 Days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$21.13/HS9
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2019-2020
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attend and successfully complete the Basic Peace Officer Certification Course at an approved TCOLE Academy in adherence to the Academy guidelines.
- Successfully complete the training within the prescribed timeframe listed by the academy.
- Successfully pass the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Certification Examination.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Field Training Officer and/or Police Leadership Team.
