Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced financial services professional to join our team as the Director of Lending. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day lending operations, developing, and executing strategies to drive loan portfolio growth while maintaining exceptional service standards. This role requires strong management and financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate across departments to enhance member experience and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee all lending functions, including consumer and home equity loans, collateral insurance, and titles, ensuring operational efficiency and positive member experience.
· Collaborate with executive leadership to set and achieve lending goals and financial targets.
· Manage and provide guidance to the lending team, including training, mentorship, and performance management.
· Foster strong relationships with members, vendors, and stakeholders to enhance lending services.
· Assist in development and enforcement of credit union policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
· Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and member experience.
· Prepare reports, training guides, and perform loan audits for documentation accuracy and risk mitigation. Assist with marketing activities.
· Ensure accurate and timely implementation of lending projects, programs, and new systems.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field or combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in lending, with at least 5 years in a management role with a financial institution.
· In-depth knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and regulations.
· Excellent team management and coaching abilities.
· Proficiency in loan origination systems and financial software.
Required Skills:
· In-depth knowledge of loan origination, manual underwriting, and settlement procedures.
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills to manage risk and drive growth.
· Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and energize member facing personnel.
