Duties include working on project, implementations, hand offs, system documentation, device configurations, system maintenance, system life cycles, operational support for network security systems, and network security escalations. Some travel between branch and office locations may be needed for projects.
The engineer must possess hands on ability to document solutions to complex problems and execute project tasks within a team environment. A successful engineer will professionally work with other teams in the organization while keeping management appraised of the status of his / her projects and any escalations.
Must possess hands on ability to execute creative solutions to complex problems. Must be able to balance the ability to work independently and be a part of a high-performance team. Professionally interact with user groups while keeping Information Services management fully appraised of the status of his / her projects. This job is for on-prem systems.
This job requires the engineer to be onsite at Bensalem location for first 90 days and then has the ability to transition to a hybrid work from home schedule. There is also an on-call rotation that requires the engineer to be on-site once a week monthly.
RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS :
Support projects, implementations, and handoffs to other teamsCreate documentation and diagrams for projects, implementations, and network security devices, services, and implementations.Support PFFCUs network security infrastructure including firewalls, NAC, IPS, and other network-based security systems.Maintain and update network security systems as needed with software and firmware updates.Review, audit, and remediate network security devices for compliance with standards.Support requests from other teams and business units within PFFCUAnalyze and diagnose reports of network security problems while documenting root cause, providing recommendations for remediation, and performing corrective actions.Work with vendors for problem escalation and resolution.Ensure timely completion of daily tasks, short term, and long-term projects.Participation in an on-call rotation for afterhours support.Provide secondary application support for network security admin functionsAssist with vulnerability remediation.Review and maintenance of daily jobs including the scheduled tasks.Perform security hardening of network security systems.Proactively provide recommendations for improving internal systemsTroubleshoot and diagnose problem relating to TCP / IP, certificates, SNMP, security, while documenting root cause and performing corrective actionDocument and diagram in Visio current and future expansion of systems and network through thoughtful analysis and review.Analyze network and security devices ypology for possible issues.Work in conjunction with third party vendors to expedite resolution.Provide any required support on various hardware as needed in conjunction with various groups.Develop a working knowledge of the business side of PFFCU and be able to interface effectively with all user areas.Perform systems analysis of all software\hardware modification including vendor software releases\patches and user requests for change in a timely and proactive mannerDemonstrate an understanding of the business impact of these changes and be able to coherently explain and relate their impact to the affected user community.Researching, planning, and implementing network and security solutions and changes.Documenting internal support processes and procedures and building runbooks.Designing and implementing processes to ensure high availability of all systems and take immediate control of production problems and drive them to resolutionWorking closely with all teams in technology on projects of all scopes, including complex and cross-functional effortsWhen appropriate engaging outside contractors with proper technical expertiseEnsuring timely completion of projects and deployments in conjunction with the Business Plan.Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and Senior ManagementQUALIFICATIONS :
5 years hands on experience with Cisco network infrastructure and with a focus on security, on-going network and security operations, and new implementationsExperience with IP routing and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.Demonstrated understanding of WAN technologies used in a multi-site and remote work environment including MPLS, IPsec, and remote access VPNs.Demonstrated understanding of VXLAN fabrics and multi-VRF environmentsA strong understanding of network security technologies such as netflow, firewalls, data loss prevention, anti-malware / anti-virus, identity management, and secure network access.An active CCNA or CCNP certification with a focus on Routing & Switching and or Security is desired.Must possess knowledge of network security tools and technologies.Must possess knowledge of network monitoring tools and technologies.Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently and within a team in a highly customer-focused environment.Bachelor's degree in technical field; or related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of non-academic education and experience is desired.Ability to work on after-hours changes, including some evenings and occasional weekends.Ability to travel to office and branch locations as needed.Ability to lift 50lbs and rack / stack networking equipment.Strong project management skills.Bachelor's degree in technical field; or related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.Must possess a high level of comfort with debugging complex issuesMust possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently and with a team in a highly customer-focused environmentSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES REQUIRED :
