What are the responsibilities and job description for the APD Special Victim Coordinator position at Police?
Position Summary
Perform a wide variety of responsible and complex office administrative duties in support of The Special Victims Section (CACU, SCU, HRVU, MP, CED); screen incoming referrals from the general public, law enforcement officers and partnered agencies. Assist detectives in case preparation and scheduling according to departmental standards and guidelines.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, education, counseling, psychology, family studies or field; and
Three (3) years social services program experience.
Experience working with child and/or family programs preferred.
Experience with the investigative process related to crimes against children preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operators Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

- Methods and techniques of research and analysis
- Principles and practices of record keeping
- Crimes Against Children Unit, Sex Crimes Unit, High Risk Victim’s Unit, Child Exploitation Unit, and Missing Persons Unit
- Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computer
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
