- The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
- Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
- Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
- Perform data input. Build traffic tickets and build/reopen civil and family cases. Schedule hearings and issue pleadings.
- Analyze State Driver's License information to confirm eligibility for license reinstatement. Research records in CCIS.
- Issue marriage licenses, perform wedding ceremonies, process passport applications and record official record documents.
- Scan civil, family, criminal, traffic and official record pleadings.
- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Provide Domestic Relations printouts.
- Perform cashiering duties such as: collection of monies, posting monies to appropriate case, balancing funds and reports daily.
- Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
- Multi-task and perform other related work as required.
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of responsibility of department’s overall operation and workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and work load.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to read, research, and/or interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization and read and write English.
- Ability to operate a PC and related software applications.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to accurately type 30 wpm.
- Prefer six months related job experience and/or training.
