General Statement of Duties
Driver operates vans/passenger vehicles and is responsible for the safe and orderly transportation of passengers to and from their destinations. Work includes completion of daily vehicle inspection, fueling, interior and exterior cleaning, maintaining accurate trip records, assisting passengers as required, receiving and accounting for fares, radio and cell phone communications, and other activities as assigned by the Transportation Director.
This is a responsible position that requires safe driving skills, maturity and strong interpersonal skills. General supervision comes from the Transportation Director.
Minimum Requirements and Experience
High School graduate/GED equivalency strongly preferred.
One year experience in public transit or driving preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful pre-employment drug screen.
Successful criminal Background check.
Subject to random drug testing anytime during employment.
Physical Requirements
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, driving, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
This position may require heavy work, meaning the exertion of 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The worker is exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions and may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
