Description
The duty of the recycling attendant is to assist the general public with the separation, sorting and unloading of their recycles, and helping with the unloading of the recycling truck when it comes in with a load. This is a part-time regular position that works 24 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Tasks
- Organizing and packing up items such as aluminum cans for rebate, and light bulbs, ballasts, and batteries so they can be shipped out in accordance with strict compliance regulations.
- Keeping the area around the recycling area clear and clean.
- Emptying garbage bins as needed.

Minimum Requirements and Experience
Physical Demands The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, driving, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
This job is labor intensive requiring regular lifting of more than 20 pounds and occasional lifting of more than 50 pounds. The worker may sometimes be exposed to outside environmental conditions such as : heat, cold and inclement weather. The worker may be exposed to noxious substances, sharp objects, and other hazardous items requiring use of specialized personal protective equipment.
