Custom Job Purpose:
This position exists to perform specialized clerical work in the verification of materials and supplies received, stored and issued at a large warehousing complex.
Essential Functions of this Job
Loads and unloads transport trucks by properly using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other materials handling equipment. Receives materials and supplies into the warehouse by verifying against buyer's order or other applicable document. Assures that items are properly marked and distributed to the correct warehouse location. Assists in identifying items to facilitate correct issuing. Contacts Purchasing Department Buyers and other departments, as necessary, to resolve differences relating to items received and those which were ordered. Makes assignments to and directs work of Warehouse Workers. Helps assure safe working conditions by immediately reporting safety concerns to supervisor for corrective action.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of all items received, stored and issued from the Central Warehouse Complex and Satellites. Knowledge of proper warehouse receiving, marking, storing, maintaining and issuing procedures. Ability to receive, store and issue items including, but not limited to, school supplies, furniture and equipment, food commodities, maintenance materials, textbooks and surplus property using the appropriate equipment. Ability to establish and maintain Purchase Orders, Storeroom Requisitions, Property Dispositions and other warehouse documents using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Ability to instruct warehouse personnel in proper receiving, marking, storing and issuing procedures. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees, District personnel and vendors. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements
Graduation from high school or completion of GED. A minimum of three years experience in the receipt, storing and issuance of materials and supplies at a large warehouse operation. Possession of the appropriate valid State of Florida driver's license.
Work Context:
Requires standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public. Requires the use of alternative communication systems such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires travel to school locations and work sites within the district.
Physical Environment:
Requires standing for the majority of the day, and the ability to frequently lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing between 20 and 50 pounds. Requires working both indoors and outdoors. Requires the proper use of personal protective devices and equipment as assigned.
