Reports to: Principal
Supervises: N/A
Job Summary: To prepare and serve nutritious meals for students and staff in an efficient, safe, and inviting cafeteria environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepare and serve meals.
- Assist the manager and other food service workers with food preparation tasks as assigned by the cafeteria manager.
3. Assist with kitchen operation.
- Clean.
- Maintain equipment.
- Maintain milk cooler.
5. Communicate appropriately within the school environment.
- Help maintain an inviting cafeteria atmosphere.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
Other Functions:
1. Other duties as assigned by the principal.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous experience in food service preferred
Polk County Schools
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board of Education policy, North Carolina statutes, and goals established by the Principal and the cafeteria manager.
Environmental Factors:
This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, having hands in water for dishwashing and cleaning, handling cleaning agents.
