Dept. /School: Polk County Special Services Cooperative (SSA)

(Serving Big Sandy ISD, Chester ISD, Colmesneil ISD, Corrigan-Camden ISD, Goodrich ISD, and   Leggett ISD)

 

Primary Purpose:

The ARD facilitator is responsible for coordination, planning, and preparation of compliance documents for students eligible for Special Education services. 

Conduct ARD/IEP meeting and assist building administrators/teachers in ensuring that the ARD/IEP process and for students with disabilities are in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Special Education Certification Required

Experience in Special Education Required 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:                           

 

Program Management:

  • Demonstrates the ability to assist in the organization of ARD meetings, conferences to share appropriate individual data with staff members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to confidentially disclose information that will assist in the identification of students with special needs and/or problems.
  • Complete and turn in all required documentation within timelines.
  • Maintain data reports in order to maintain a schedule for timely completion of annual ARD meetings for students. Coordinate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated ARD meetings within required timelines.
  • Schedule ARDs in order to meet required timelines.
  • Collaborate and coordinate ARD/IEP schedules with campus staff.
  • Supports established administrative policies and directives.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Adheres to timelines and other required federal and state guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Director.
  • Disseminates information to other professionals and agencies through written materials.
  • Strives to improve skills through self-initiated professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with area agencies serving students with disabilities to facilitate communication and the provision of services to students with disabilities.

 

Staff and Parent Relations:

  • Communicate with appropriate related personnel regarding evaluation results and strategies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with school professionals to benefit students.
  • Displays sensitivity to the concerns of staff members and colleagues.
  • Works collaboratively and constructively with other departments, staff, and parents.
  • Provides consultative assistance to teachers upon request (including strategies, assist with IEP goals/objectives, etc.) and provides follow up as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

 

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, campus/office printer, IPAD, and any others needed for job description.
