Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Chiller Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have between 5 and 10 years of experience in troubleshooting and servicing air-cooled and water-cooled chillers (200 tons and larger) from all major manufacturers. This role requires expertise in a variety of compressor types, strong safety and refrigerant handling practices, and a commitment to delivering professional and effective communication with both the office and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain air-cooled and water-cooled chillers (200 tons and larger) from all major brands.
- Service and troubleshoot screw, centrifugal, scroll, and mag lift compressors.
- Perform pump flow calculations and troubleshoot pump-related issues.
- Maintain and service cooling towers and ensure proper operation.
- Work safely and follow strong safety and refrigerant handling practices.
- Troubleshoot and maintain VFDs, VRF systems, controls, boilers, process chillers, and humidifiers.
- Effectively communicate with customers and office personnelto ensure transparency in diagnostics, repair timelines, and maintenance plans.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements and energy efficiency.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing large commercial chillers.
- Strong knowledge of compressor systems (screw, centrifugal, scroll, and mag lift).
- Proficiency in pump operations, pump flow calculations, and cooling tower maintenance.
- Experience with VFDs, VRF systems, control systems, boilers, process chillers, and humidifiers.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and refrigerant handling best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal) required.
- Additional HVAC or Chiller Certifications a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
