What You’ll Do
- Strategic Partner:
- Map out marketing and communication strategies that align with Polk goals—and make them happen—for all departments.
- Partner with leadership and peers to spot opportunities, position us as a leader, and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Help department leaders create and reach measurable goals in marketing-communications that maximize ROI and impact.
- Partner with Sales on Polk’s more complex pursuits with win themes, research, and assembly to continue growing our revenue, capabilities, and customer relationships.
- Co-lead crisis communications with internal partners for timely, consistent messaging.
- Ensure that Polk’s prequalification process across the board is consistent, accurate, and up-to-date with the latest in accounting, legal, safety, and TriplePoint information.
- People Leader:
- Lead and inspire a crew of marketing and comms professionals to do their best work.
- Encourage collaboration, innovation, and professional growth of employees, fostering Polk culture along the way.
- Lead department and ad hoc committees, pulling in the same direction with clear goals, KPIs, and creative energy.
- Brand Builder:
- Be the guardian of our brand, ensuring everything we do—from a social media caption, to a hat, to a multi-faceted campaign—is 100% Polk Nation.
- Craft engaging content and eye-catching thought leadership content.
- Tell the stories behind our projects, company, and people in a way that resonates with customers, the industry, and target audience.
- Safeguard and monitor the Polk reputation in public relations and crisis communications.
- Creative Capabilities:
- Dream up and execute bold, integrated campaigns (think digital, social, email, and beyond) to move the needle on employee engagement and financial goals.
- Showcase our wins, innovations, and industry leadership in a way that gets noticed.
- Lead corporate sponsorships and large events for the best execution and ROI.
- Bring fresh, relevant, and impactful thinking for a lean marketing-communications operation.
- Relationship Builder:
- Build strong connections and be a liaison with customers’ marketing POCs, stakeholders, industry organizations, and media across Polk geographies.
- Be our face and voice at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Ensure our communication efforts keep Polk Nation engaged and inspired.
- Drive internal communications for a more connected Polk, creating alignment with our Core Ideology and goals for employees.
- Support business development activity in our industry and geographies.
- Data & Analytics:
- Use market research and analytics to support enterprise strategy.
- Identify trends, track ROI, and optimize campaigns based on what works.
- Report to leadership and peers the impact of marketing-supported projects and communications channels.
- Lead in AI, the Airtable project management software, and Hubspot platform, leveraging technology tools to get more done.
- Evaluate marketing and communications processes for efficiency and relevance to the core operations.
- Budgets:
- Keep the marketing budget in check while maximizing impact.
- Manage vendors and third-party agencies to enhance the capabilities of the Polk Marketing-Communications Department.
- Help internal customers plan the budget for marketing-supported projects (annual team Christmas presents, employee recognition, etc.)
- TriplePoint Thought Leader
- Mentor and train TriplePoint marketing personnel to assist platform companies in their marketing, pursuits, or communications efforts.
- Create a consistent brand in communications efforts internally (incl. with equity holders) and externally.
- Special marketing-communications projects as necessary.
