What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Field Technician-Instrumentation/Electronics position at Polk Production Technologies, Inc.?
We are currently looking to fill positions in the Corpus Christi, Victoria and George West areas.
-Pay will be based on work experience.
-Must have 5 years in experience as pneumatic technician or as deemed sufficient by management.
-Must have knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production safety systems, PIDs and Pneumatic drawings.
-Must have experience working with pneumatic oilfield safety systems and components.-
As an Experienced Field Technician specializing in Instrumentation and Electronics, you must be able to understand and design pneumatic logic. Must be able to read pneumatic drawings, trouble shoot and modify existing pneumatic Master, Well and Slave control panels to customer needs. Most pneumatic panels do not have drawings and applicant will need to understand the logic without drawings. Some facilities will not have control panels but will have a pneumatic safety system installed. Applicant must have the required skills to understand, test and modify different pneumatic safety systems without supervision. Applicant will assemble, install, test, calibrate and repair pneumatic and hydraulic safety systems and components. Applicant will perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks such as testing, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
Skills Required:
- Assembles and installs pneumatic instrument components to complete desired outcome.
- Understanding of production equipment and the safety systems required for various production layouts and designs. Knowledge of API RP 14C is a plus.
- Tests pneumatic and hydraulic equipment to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment, rebuild or replacement.
- Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
- Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance or calibration of safety equipment and components.
- Ability to run 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" stainless steel tubing. Single line, group and rack tubing required.
- Tests tubing for leaks after installation.
- Reports hazardous field situations and damaged equipment.
- Installs pressure control valves, regulators, pressure switches and solenoids.
- Prepares reports of services rendered, tools used, and time required for billing purposes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
