J ob Description :
The Teaching Lab Assistant provides various clerical and operational support duties in a large Teaching / Learning Lab Center. Responsibilities involve assisting the Testing Specialist in administering and monitoring student tests and providing general office support within the department. Due to the position's nature, students are not eligible for it.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions / Duties :
- Maintain files and safeguard academic tests; distribute to students for completion as requested by faculty.
- Administer and monitor various placement tests, standardized tests (CLEP, ACT, TEAS, PearsonVue), distance education and make-up test for Polk State courses..
- Train for and obtain certifications required by 3rd party testing entities.
- Answer lab telephone, provide information and refer calls as appropriate.
- Assist disabled students and special needs students.
