Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

SciTec has an immediate opportunity in our Boulder, CO office for a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in space systems. This engineer will be responsible for the development of operational concepts, stakeholder needs, and architecture to integrate developmental Space Force systems into SciTec data processing architectures. This work will be performed collaboratively with both customer representatives and with SciTec technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordination with acquisition staff and end-users to elicit, detail, and document operational concepts and stakeholder needs for the integration of novel sensors with ground processing and exploitation systems
• Development and analysis of ground processing system requirements which address identified stakeholder needs
• Support to SciTec development teams in the design of system architectures which meet established requirements and align with customer concepts of operations
• Supporting the documentation of operational concepts, stakeholder needs, system requirements, and system architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools
• Support to staff mentoring and process improvement within the SciTec systems engineering team
• Additional duties as require and assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Current SECRET DoD or DoE clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering, software, or space operations
• At least two years supporting the architecture, design, development, or operations of space sensing or communications systems
• Ability to travel domestically to coordinate with customer representatives (for planning purposes, approximately once per month)
• Detail Oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills
  
  

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

• Current TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information
• Demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes, particularly stakeholder needs analysis, requirements analysis, and architecture design
• Academic credentials or industry certification (e.g. INCOSE) in systems engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Experience with the design or operation of Overhead Persistent Infrared sensor systems, ground segments, or exploitation tooling
• Experience with the design or operation of proliferated satellite constellations or their associated communications and ground systems
• Experience with conducting data-driven trade studies, including the development and use of simulation tools.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques. Familiarity with the Cameo suite of tools is particularly desired

The pay range for this position is $141,000- $185,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
