Summary:
To service members and guests by providing a warm welcome and massage services including various modalities and body treatments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;
- Performs massage therapy and body services.
- Respects and maintains complete confidentiality as it pertains to clients and is sensitive to their needs.
- Provides massage or body treatments, maintaining proper draping and comfortable pressure throughout the treatment.
- Recommends body treatment products according to the client’s needs.
- Familiarize clients with other services that could be of benefit to them.
- Maintains massage room in an orderly manner so that everyone can access materials needed.
- Manages time so that each client receives appropriate time for their scheduled massage.
- Schedules and confirms appointments and confirms payments.
- Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Spa Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of massage, flexibility, determination and dependability.
- Previous club experience preferred.
- Ability to perform 30 to 90 minutes massages.
- Requires excellent communication skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Requires good judgment.
- Requires knowledge of services offered and bodywork.
- Requires knowledge in the use of hydroculator, hydraulic massage table, Vichy shower, hot stone device, knowledge of salts, creams and seaweeds.
- Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Certificate from college or technical school plus one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on a one-on-one basis with members and guests.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Internet software and Spa software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Massage Therapy license, First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
