Description:

An IT Application Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of software applications, from planning and implementation to ongoing maintenance and support, ensuring they meet business needs and operate efficiently.

Responsibilities for IT Application Manager:

Application Lifecycle Management:

  • Research and Procurement: Identifying, evaluating, and procuring software applications that meet business requirements.
  • Implementation and Integration: Overseeing the installation, configuration, and integration of new applications into existing systems.
  • Maintenance and Support: Ensuring applications are running smoothly, resolving issues, and providing ongoing support to end-users.
  • Upgrades and Enhancements: Planning, implementing, and managing application upgrades and enhancements.

Project Management:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Planning and managing projects related to application development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Budget Management: Managing budgets for application projects and operations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with application projects and operations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Stakeholder Management: Working with business stakeholders, IT staff, and vendors to ensure applications meet business needs.
  • Communication: Communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strategic Planning:

  • Roadmap Development: Developing and maintaining a roadmap for application development and maintenance.
  • Technology Evaluation: Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

Other Important Tasks:

  • Documentation: Maintaining system documentation, including configuration settings, technical specifications, and user guides.
  • Training: Providing training to end-users on how to use new applications.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring application performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring applications comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Required/Preferable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Software analysis, design, release, maintenance
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Organized with strong time-management skills
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • IT Consulting background preferred

Education/Experience Requirements:

Required- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience (5yrs experience preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Employees are regularly required to talk and hear and are frequently required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Employees are frequently required to walk with occasional requirements to climb stairs; use of hands for gross manipulation, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $60,000 - $115,000
