Description for Quality Control Technician Technician:

Entry level position responsible for supporting a wide variety of quality control related activities and tasks under supervision and guidance. Primary job functions will not generally require exercising independent judgement.

Scope for Quality Control Lab Technician:

This is an independent contributor role. There are no direct reports for this position. Interaction is generally with laboratory and Quality Assurance personnel. This position reports to the QC Lab Supervisor/Manager or Quality Manager.

Responsibilities for Quality Control Lab Technician:

  • Enter QC/Analytics sample submissions onto the applicable database in timely manner, ensure accuracy of requested information.
  • Manage and organize lab samples.
  • Prints and issues paperwork for QC testing and reporting.
  • Reviews and approves QC data and reports prior to QA review per SOPs and applicable regulations, obtain GDP corrections as needed
  • Perform/review data entry in EIQ and performs status movement in EIQ as needed
  • Attend production meetings offering status of lab results as needed; provides feedback from production meeting to QC lab staff as needed
  • Conducts inspections for incoming materials and dispositions materials accordingly, IP.
  • Updates IP/PS, TM, QC and SOP documents as required using ECO system.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Education: B.S. degree in chemistry, biology, or related physical science
  • Years of Experience: at least 1 year experience in analytical QC lab, GMP environment, or quality assurance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a QC laboratory for full understanding of testing, GDP, ISO standards and sampling statistics, and how to read results to determine if there was a testing error or not.

Desirable Characteristics:

  • Excellent data recording skills
  • Must be very detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to deal effectively with time pressures, stress, and changing demands of job on a regular basis.
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform calculations to review data. · Able to interface well with database systems.
  • Reasonable understanding of statistics
  • Organization of multiple types of information.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Requires walking, ability to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulder heights and below waist throughout the day. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

  • Gas chromatography: 1 year (Preferred)
  • FTIR: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Laboratory techniques: 1 year (Required)
