Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Engineer. The Assistant Engineer is responsible for a wide range of buildings and grounds maintenance details. The applicant should be a self-starter who is able to work independently as well as with others.
Primary Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: One year of engineering maintenance experience. 2-3 years preferred.
Specific Skills: Painting, carpentry, light electrical, light plumbing. Basic knowledge of boilers/HVAC. Working with power tools and basic computer skills.
Certifications/Licenses: Trade school certifications are a plus.
Special Requirements: NYS Drivers License
Compensation Range: $24.04 - $26.44 per hour

- Conduct visual inspections of boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and facility finishes.
- Perform carpentry, light plumbing, light electrical and mechanical installations and repairs.
- Assemble furniture and fixtures.
- Disassemble, demolish and discard work area items.
- Paint indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain and organize shop and storage areas.
- Setup tables, chairs, risers, etc. for events.
- Perform general outdoor grounds work.
