Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Flexographic Printing
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our team in a dynamic, fast-paced flexographic printing environment. This position is ideal for someone with a systematic mindset and a passion for problem-solving. You will play a key role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrade, and repair of flexographic printing equipment, including slitter, lamination and pouch machines, with a focus on both electrical and pneumatic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on flexographic machines, including slitter, lamination and pouch equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic systems to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
- Assist in the installation and set-up of new equipment and machinery as needed.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues or areas for improvement in equipment performance.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and production staff to maintain production uptime and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and enhance machine longevity.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis for recurring equipment issues and propose corrective actions.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with exposure to flexographic printing or similar production machinery.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of flexographic printing technology, including slitter and pouch machines.
- Familiarity with motion control systems, logic control devices (PLCs, VFDs etc.), industrial automation instrumentation, electrical and pneumatic systems
- A systematic approach to problem-solving with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment optimization.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with flexographic printing machinery or other high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment that may involve standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
