Manufacturing Maintenance Technician- Flexible Packaging
Job Summary: The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting printing presses, laminators, slitters, and peripheral equipment. The technician will be responsible for general plant and facility repair.
Education: Associates degree, high school diploma or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Preference for industry experience or food & beverage manufacturing
- Journeyman and/or electrical troubleshooting and repair of machinery in manufacturing
Preferred Requirements:
- Must adhere to all quality processes, including documentation and verification as they apply to the performance of your tasks.
- Able to lift between 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk, squat, crouch, turn, twist, stretch, climb steps, grab, pull, push, and bend throughout an 8-to-12-hour shift.
- Knowledge of flexographic printing production equipment and/or food & beverage**
- Knowledge of electric motors, pumps, and pneumatic systems. **
- Candidate must have knowledge of control systems components including PLC logic, control system wiring, VFDs, 3 phase motors, potentiometers, encoders, electro-pneumatically actuated valves and pneumatic control systems. **
- Ability to perform routine mechanical or electrical maintenance. Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and wiring schematics,
- Preferred experience with machinery of OEMs such as Uteco, DCM ATN, Bielloni, Nordmeccanica is a big plus. **
- Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.
- Ability to communicate with machine manufacturers to diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns over emails or phone calls.
Duties:
- Maintain and repair equipment using hand and power tools.
- Install, service and repair electric motors, heaters, coolers, pumps.
- install and test parts as needed.
- Ensures the proper use, care and storage of tools and equipment.
- Performs all duties in conformance with good manufacturing practices to avoid contamination of raw materials.
- Dismantles and reassembles units or parts to clean, repair, maintain or adjust the machine.
- Perform and documents preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in the PM logs.
