Material Handler
2nd Shift: 3:00pm-12:00am
Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the receiving of incoming products and shipping outgoing products. In addition, this position is responsible for keeping the film raw material inventory in orderly condition, staging film for production, and returning unused film into the warehouse. In the absence of this position, the CSR assigned shipping duties, and the Logistics Coordinator will maintain shipping duties.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: One year experience driving a forklift preferred
Job training provided.
Requirements:
- Forklift operator
- Can follow instructions and is attentive to detail
- Must obey all personnel, product, and food safety regulations.
- Must adhere to all quality processes, including documentation and verification as they apply to the performance of your tasks.
- Must be a team player!
- Trained in proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Able to lift between 50 to 75 lbs. minimum.
- Must be able to walk, squat, crouch, turn, twist, stretch, climb steps, grab, pull, push, and bend throughout an 8-to-12-hour shift.
- Flexibility with work schedule.
- Must be computer proficient.
Duties:
- Unload incoming trucks and receive products.
- Inspect the incoming truck and complete the truck inspection report.
- Make certain that the incoming product matches items ordered by comparing to purchase order.
- Visually inspect the product to ensure it is free of defects and damage.
- Receive and deliver incoming products to an appropriate location within the facility.
- Prepare outgoing shipments.
- Visually inspect the rolls on pallet to ensure each roll is individually wrapped and free of damage.
- Compare the packing list with the product on the pallet confirming customer, item, and number of rolls on the pallet.
- Ensure that all packing lists, BOL and receiver are accounted for and give to the Accounting department
- Place shipping labels and packing list conspicuously on the exterior of the wrapped pallet.
- Prepare bill of lading and other reports as required.
- Inspect the outgoing truck and complete truck inspection report.
- Move pallet to shipping staging area.
- Load outbound shipments into trucks.
- Using production schedule and picking tickets as guide, retrieving film for printing and laminating and stage in assigned areas by the equipment.
- Return into the film inventory, unused film from the presses and laminators.
- Perform cleaning tasks as outlined in the cleaning logs (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
- Trained in the handling of hazardous materials.
- Operating a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery, or power tools
