Summary:

Our team is searching for someone to optimize PolyJohn's product distribution strategy, including minimizing freight costs, optimizing warehouse sizes and locations, and expanding reach efficiently for both internal and external customers.

The goal for this position is to make our product distribution a competitive advantage for PolyJohn.

This role should focus on:

• Freight Cost Optimization
• Negotiating better freight contracts
• Create Prime relationships with carriers
• Optimizing shipment consolidation strategies
• Exploring cost-effective transportation modes
• Drive Cube management software selection and implementation
• Warehouse Network Strategy
• Analyzing warehouse sizes, locations, and inventory stocking levels
• Implementing regional warehousing to minimize lead times
• Evaluating third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships
• Customer Reach & Delivery Efficiency
• Identifying key customer hubs to improve service levels
• Implementing data-driven route planning
• Leveraging predictive analytics for demand forecasting
• Create a win-win relationship with both internal and external customers.
• Cost Reduction & Process Automation
• Driving lean supply chain practices
• Implementing automation in inventory management
• Enhancing real-time shipment tracking and visibility

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• This position drives the planned utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in our fulfillment centers throughout the network.
• The Director will develop prime relationships with carriers across the spectrum of PolyJohn market channels driving freight cost down.
• The Director will establish best practices for outbound loads to delight our internal and external customers upon the loads arrival.
• The Director will be responsible for recommending most suitable cube management software to be deployed by PolyJohn.
• The Director will establish work measurement, programs and analyzes data to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Assist site leadership with forecasts, staffing and material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.
• Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes data to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts as required.
• Conducts time studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing costs, process flow charts, and customer requirements.
• Recommends and creates work methods for maximizing the utilization of facilities and personnel reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.
• Monitors and evaluates service and cost management.
• Works closely with the project management and quality compliance teams to ensure the operations are driving quality through efficiency while adhering to compliance standards
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Oversee and develop the engineering team, fostering growth and achieving engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with sales management to align engineering efforts with Pipeline growth and client launch requirements.
• Direct and drive targeted technology innovation with solutions team
• Develop and present solutions that enhance customer value. Serve as the technical expert in client and partner interactions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Undergraduate degree in supply chain, logistics, other related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5 years of experience in process engineering or process improvement, preferably in multi-location logistics.
• Advanced experience with application such as: Auto Cad, TOPS, Visio, Smart sheets, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus
• Experience with lean six sigma preferred.
• The ideal candidate will utilize process engineering and lean concepts. The candidate will have fulfillment operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams from operations, business development, quality, solution design, project management, and others to achieve organizational business goals and objectives.

Work Environment:

• Office / Warehouse Mix: This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role will require the ability to, on occasion, go in and out of trailers, navigate around roller racks, and other logistical equipment within a warehouse setting. The position will also require travel of both in air and driving.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee’s work environment may vary from professional office to fulfillment center floor, and other vendor/client locations.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
