An exciting career awaits you at Pomerene, we are looking for a full-time HR Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator performs Human Resources functions with regards to scheduling applicants, job postings, reference checking, enrolling new employees, and completing all paperwork for personnel files and payroll records; wage and salary surveys; employee benefits information; clerical duties, and other assigned duties as directed.

Essential Functions

  • Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
  • Performs the duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure, which includes a high degree of organization and efficient record keeping.
  • Prioritizes tasks in a changing work environment and is able to perform work with frequent interruptions.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with internal customers and develops a positive internal perception of the hospital.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
  • Delivers service that builds employee engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assisting in creating, implementing, and evaluating all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures.
  • Assisting in benefit management, including Open Enrollment.
  • Ensuring all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status.
  • Identifying the company’s hiring needs and helping with the recruitment process to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Responding to employees’ queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll processes.
  • Good understanding of the full recruitment, pre-employment, FMLA, and benefit process.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and team management abilities

  • Employee relations- successfully address employee concerns to create an engaging work environment.
  • Performance management: The ability to set expectations, monito, and help employees to improve their performance to help achieve company goals.
  • Detail-oriented: Attention to detail is essential as many HR responsibilities are highly detailed-oriented, such as analyzing each candidate’s qualifications and job interview results to determine the best individual for the position.
  • High ethics: HR’s duties are to access employee information like contract terms and salaries. Therefore, acting ethically and responsibly is essential when working with employees’ personal information.
  • Conflict management skills: illustrate good negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills: Maintain good working relationships with staff within the business.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma/GED- Required

Bachelor's degree in business or related field - Preferred

1-3 years of HR experience - strongly preferred

HR Certificate (SHRM/PHR)- Preferred
