Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will assist with examinations, measurements and assessments. Acts as a resource person utilizing effective communication with the staff, physicians, and the general public.
Essential Functions
- Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical and clinical capacity to provide direct patient care as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
- Performs clerical/administrative tasks and duties as needed.
- Performs all tasks and duties at Pomerene HPHC within appropriate scope of practice under the direction of the physician/provider or LPN.
- Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians/providers and ancillary departments.
- Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to department policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
Education
High School Diploma/GED- Required
Completion of a medical assistant course/program-preferred
Experience
1-3 years of Healthcare/Medical experience preferred
Certification/Licensures
BCLS certification* (*May be obtained during orientation period)
Registered and/or Certification in medical assisting preferred
