Job Summary
As Scrub Techs of Pomerene Hospital it is our responsibility to support the mission and role of Pomerene Hospital within the organization and out in the community at all times. Pomerene Scrub Techs will demonstrate a support of the hospital's mission, vision, values and strategic plan in a team-oriented environment. The Scrub Tech also performs/supports all job duties in compliance with laws, regulations and in observance of accrediting agency standards and related professional organization standards. Professionalism will be maintained throughout employment and includes physical appearance and behavioral presentation.
The Scrub Tech assigned to the OR will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, timely, effective, quality, age appropriate, culture appropriate, cost conscious and evidenced based care. The Scrub Tech provides patient care on an individualized basis, according to organizational policies and procedures. Within the level of the Scrub Tech's qualifications, may be assigned to work on other nursing units based on patient census and staffing needs.
Essential Functions
- Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical and clinical capacity to provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
- Demonstrates competence in OR needs and practices.
- Performs all tasks and duties within appropriate scope of practice.
- Must be within 20 minutes of the facility while on-call.
- Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
- Adapts readily to a changing work environment and is able to perform with frequent interruptions.
- Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.

Education
High School Diploma/GED - Required
Completion of Accredited Program - Practical Nursing - Preferred
Completion of Accredited Program - Scrub Technology - Preferred
Experience
1-3 Healthcare/Medical - Scrub Tech - Preferred
Certification & Licensures
State of Ohio LPN licensure- preferred
BCLS certification*
- May be obtained during orientation period.
