Our tasting room is in the heart of the Lucia Valley in Yacolt, Washington, which is where customers are introduced to and fall in love with our wines! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day to day operations at the tasting room, including limited oversight of The Inn at Pomeroy Cellars
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise Pomeroy Cellars Tasting Room Staff
- Inventory Management
- Welcome all customers to Pomeroy Cellars and provide a wonderful and memorable experience
- Conduct tastings and answer questions about our wines, vineyard, winemaking and history
- Learn the cash register and ring up purchases of wine, food and merchandise
- Promote our events and wines in a knowledgeable and enthusiastic manner
- Working both private after-hours events at the tasting room as well as off-site events representing the business
- Fulfilling roles or tasks during events and event preparation in an efficient, professional manner
- Attend and facilitate Employee Tasting Sessions and Staff Meetings (professional development)
- Staying current and knowledgeable on all winery issues and news by reading update emails
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Thursday thru Sunday availability required. Flexible schedule preferred (evenings, different shift options on weekends, etc.)
- Be warm, friendly, outgoing, professional, reliable, trust-worthy and demonstrate excellent customer service.
- 2 years Hospitality management experience, ideally in craft beverages.
- Employees should have the continuous enthusiasm and desire to learn about wine, our products, the vineyard and history of Pomeroy Cellars and Pomeroy Farm.
- Complete the MAST Training and Food Handlers course as required by the state
- Working at Pomeroy Cellars can be a physical job! We ask that our employees be able to lift 40-50lbs (a case of wine weighs about 40lbs) on a regular basis, be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and lift, bend, squat and push/pull large objects with relative ease.
- Ability to multi-task, recognize and prioritize things that needs to be done and initiate action in a fast-paced environment. The ability to recognize tasks that can be completed during slower periods.
- Flexibility and willingness to complete different jobs and tasks as assigned.

COMPENSATION:
- DOE $20 - $26/hour plus tips
- 50% Staff Discount on Wine
- 25% Staff discount on non-Wine

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 36 per week
