Position Summary: Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing janitorial, general building, ground and outdoor maintenance duties for property buildings and related areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General building maintenance: Cleans buildings by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing rooms, replace light bulbs, make minor repairs, check & clean equipment, vacuuming, washing surfaces, etc
- Ground/outdoor maintenance: mowing, watering, sweeping, pick-up lawn debris, clean sidewalks, weeding, and operating grass-cutting equipment
- Floor maintenance: pick-up trash from floors, remove gum, vacuum, strips, seal, finish, polish, dry and wet mop, scrub, wax and buff
- Routinely checks on security of buildings to ensure that no unauthorized personnel are on PRRC premises, and assisting with special events
- Monitoring building by locking doors after operating hours
- Set-up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
- Cleans facility vans as needed
- Helping to ensure the safety of all individuals served including observing and meeting safety requirements and precautions in facility based activities and all equipment’s used.
- Replenish bathroom and other facility supplies
- Provide physical assistance to persons served including transferring, pushing wheelchairs, loading, and unloading from vehicles, and physical guidance as needed
- Work in collaboration with referral sources, family members, other service providers, and staff to ensure consistent maintenance
- Notify Facility Manager and team when major repairs or additions are needed to building operations systems
- Notify Facility Manager and team when supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Provide other aspects of facility maintenance as needed
- Works effectively as part of a team in a professional, respectful, friendly, and hospitable manner in all interactions, including but not limited to, persons served, care provides, PRRC staff, affiliated organizations, and the community-at-large; while maintaining positive, professional relations and accomplishing PRRC’s mission
- Attend staff meetings, professional growth trainings and classes including but not limited to in-services, conferences and workshops
- Works effectively with a variety of personalities and to be sensitive to the needs/communication of persons with differing abilities
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and projects with varying time sensitive deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. Requirements
- High School Degree or GED
- 1 year or more related custodial experience required
- Class A/B building maintenance experience preferred
- Proficient in the English language as to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment, materials, safety, and accident prevention.
- Bilingual preferred
- Able to accommodate a flexible schedule (weekends and some evenings, both scheduled and occasional) required
- Customer Service Skills (to vendors, contractors, internal staff, other departments) preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Integrity and ability to work independently
- Microsoft Office software (Word & Excel), email, and Internet experience preferred
- Criminal Record Clearance required
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and ProAct required
- Valid California driver’s license with clear DMV report may be required
