Onsite Desktop Support Technician (Contract-to-Hire) – Kissimmee, FL
Pay Rate: Up to $28.50/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Kissimmee, FL. This contract-to-hire position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment providing desktop support and hardware installations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with enterprise-level IT systems, and excellent customer service abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting for refreshed or reimaged devices.
- Provide desktop support, including incident resolution and issue escalation.
- Image and stage hardware for deployment.
- Wipe and reprocess returned devices for inventory.
- Install and configure requested software, including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and VPN applications.
- Utilize ticketing systems (ServiceNow) to manage assigned service tickets, update records, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide remote support post-deployment for users requiring assistance with software, configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Physically handle and transport computer equipment as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in PC desktop/laptop field deployment for large-scale operations.
- Proficiency with SCCM, TCP/IP protocols, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Experience with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Mac OS environments.
- Familiarity with InTune and cloud-based device management.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale Windows migrations.
- Strong knowledge of ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a corporate IT support environment.
- IT certifications (A , Network , Microsoft, etc.) are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have access to a roadworthy vehicle for transportation between job sites.
- Punctuality and flexibility to handle various End-User Computing (EUC) tasks as assigned.
