Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless, and VoIP to join our team on a 12 month contract. This role is hybrid and candidates must be local to Tucson, AZ. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and documentation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge network technologies while collaborating with senior management and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot Cisco networking solutions (Routers, Switches, Wireless, VoIP).
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting tools for diagnosing network issues.
- Perform network upgrades including hardware and software configuration.
- Deploy and manage wireless networks (WLC and access points).
- Configure and upgrade VoIP switch ports.
- Follow Change Management processes and approvals for all modifications.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams and asset tracking.
- Ensure proper equipment handling and wiping before returning to storage or vendors.
- Present findings and solutions to senior management and clients.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 years of experience in LAN Network Engineering.
- 3 years of experience with Cisco Switch/Router network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting VSS, HSRP, MACsec, Layer 2 Tunneling, and Layer 2/3 protocols (Spanning Tree, IPv4, 802.1q, EIGRP).
- Strong understanding of Cisco software licensing and IOS upgrades.
- Proficiency in IP addressing and subnetting.
- Experience in LAN Design and Architecture (Minimum 5 years).
- Hands-on experience in wireless network deployment and VoIP solutions.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (Verbal & Written).
- Proficiency in Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Ethernet, Multicast, Spanning Tree, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong LAN troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of network design best practices.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Current Cisco Certification (CCNA) is highly desirable.
