Job Purpose
Support the growth and success of students with unique learning profiles by implementing learning plans and engaging in individual support and instruction with students receiving learning support.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with students 1:1 and develop individualized, tailored curriculum plans to help them become strategic and self-advocating learners
- Work with faculty to develop effective teaching strategies that support the widest possible range of students
- Hold students accountable for appointments and assignments
- Work closely with the Director of Learning Support to meet the needs of students and advance the work of the Collaborative Learning Center
- Coach an athletic team or supervise an afternoon program for the equivalent of two out of three seasons
- Serve as a faculty advisor
- Live in a dormitory and/or participate in the residential life program, which includes a rotation of weeknight and weekend responsibilities
- Participate in the student life program QUEST and the academic program Project:Pomfret
- Attend faculty, school, departmental meetings, chapel services, and other required school functions and be available for weekly office hours
- Manage relationships with parents that support the social and emotional well-being, intellectual development, and independent personal responsibility of students
- Pursue growth in understanding and implementation of the most current educational practices
- Contribute knowledge, expertise, and passion for the ongoing collaborative effort to innovate and improve Pomfret’s curriculum
- Manage relationships with parents that support the social and emotional well-being, intellectual development, and independent personal responsibility of students
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administration
- Must adhere to all School policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Continually meet or exceed Pomfret School’s Standards of Behavior, Character, and Engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned
