Responsibilities:
Tile Installation:
- Cut tiles and shape them to fit around obstacles, tight corners, and odd spaces using power and hand tools.
- Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar, utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes, and trowels.
- Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels, and squares to ensure even and precise patterns.
- Install hard tile, marble on walls, floors, and various indoor and outdoor surfaces
- Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in commercial spaces.
Surface Preparation:
- Clean surfaces and prepare them for tiling.
- Measure, cut, and shape tiles to fit the determined pattern.
- Ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results.
Quality Assurance:
- Select appropriate tools and equipment needed for the job.
- Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure components are working properly.
- Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled.
- Customer Interaction:
- Work with clients to discuss their tiling needs.
- Provide outstanding customer service during installations.
Qualifications:
Physical Strength and Stamina:
- Tile setters need to lift heavy materials and equipment.
- Endurance to kneel or stand for extended periods.
