Accounts Payable Clerk Summary: The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for multiple divisions from a share services corporate standpoint. The Accounts Payable Clerk obtains, reviews, enters supplier master and invoice data, as well as initiates disbursements from the ERP system.  The position is based in Baltimore Pompeian HQ offering hybrid role 2/3 days. Position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.

Accounts Payable Clerk Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience and general knowledge of Accounts Payable function preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
• Ability to operate independently while also having a strong cross-functional team approach
• Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Actively participate in positive work atmosphere and culture
• High school diploma

Accounts Payable Clerk Responsibilities:

• Review AP email inbox daily and decipher next steps
• Review and enter supplier invoices into ERP system
  • Match purchase orders and receivers to invoices. Identify errors or discrepancies and resolve them before processing
  • For invoices without purchase orders, review invoices, prepare and route for approval; follow up as necessary to ensure open invoices are approved and paid timely
  • Verify the accuracy of supplier invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used
• Use internal reporting to check for open purchases, contacting the buyer or supplier to resolve
• Interface with Accounts Payable Manager to collect and validate new/updated banking wire instructions for suppliers
• Experience processing International and domestic invoices preferred
• Reconcile supplier statements
• Research information to provide accurate and timely solutions to internal parties and suppliers
• Generate payments to suppliers on a routine schedule and ensure invoice back-up is loaded into ERP system
• Enter new/updated supplier information in ERP system as needed and maintain accurate forms and required documentations
• Develop and maintain an electronic filing system for financial information, records, and documents to ensure easily available information
• Assist with audit requests and accounting month-end/year-end closing processes as needed
• Communicate with Corporate Controller and/or Accounts Payable Manager any significant AP issues
• Interface with other departments such as Finance, Logistics and Sales
• Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals
• Perform duties and tasks per Pompeian’s mission, goals and core values
