Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a LPN
- Provides care to residents according to each resident’s individualized plan of care and according to facility policies and procedures.
- Performs professional nursing services, which include resident assessment, vital signs, administering all medications and treatments as ordered.
- Makes rounds on a regular basis during shift to assess resident medications and monitor/direct nursing assistants to ensure quality care.
- Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
- Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
- Assigns/directs nursing assistants to specific jobs to ensure quality resident care/health center standards are met.
- Attends in-service training sessions to maintain knowledge of current nursing practices.
- Communicates with charge nurse any unusual observations, emergency care, family concerns, or change in orders that affect quality of resident care.
- Communicates with resident, family, peers, and ancillary staff as necessary to promote quality care.
- Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES by maintaining a homelike environment providing individualized care and services. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active CT L.P.N. license
- Must read, write and speak English fluently
- Experience with EMR preferred Prior long term care background helpful but not required
