LOCATION : Kaw City, OK
QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 5 years’ related experience and / or training required.
Driver’s license. Must be 18 years of age or older. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction. Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites. Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions. Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete / fill tags and repair orders, Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on auto, or heavy equipment. Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and / or operate equipment; lift / move up to 50 pounds. Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust , able to work independently when needed, and capable of continuing work even when instructions are not provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assures adequate maintenance and repair records are maintained for Tribal vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains the ability to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and make necessary adjustments on all vehicle systems.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and ability to repair components on all systems, including the ability to operate shop equipment. Performs trouble shooting and related repairs on Tribal vehicles. Starts engine, moves throttle, controls, and levers to operate equipment, and attachments including tractor mower, tractor and bush hog, riding mowers, trencher, skid loader and Mini Excavator.
- Performs daily inspection of equipment, grease, oils, and performs maintenance and minor repairs.
- To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and / or office buildings. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign. Sets up safe work zones and follows safe operations procedures. Provides assistance to other departments as needed.
- All new hires will be required by the Kaw Nation to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Failure to pass the drug screen or the background check will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment.
