Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee an operational area (production or fermentation) including product manufacture, area & equipment sanitation
- Ensures that the plans and objectives established by the Operations Manager are fulfilled
- Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, training, and developing team members
- Drive staff expectations by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members
- Monitor process flows through the observation of critical control points, preventive controls, equipment, personnel, and resources
- Drive efficiencies, continuous improvement, cost reduction and the meeting of company and department goals
- Achieve expected work results and meet product specifications by establishing priorities, completing production plans, completing required documentation, scheduling, and assigning personnel, monitoring progress, and resolving problems
- Maintain food safety & quality standards through compliance with the Safe Quality Food Code and Log10 Food Safety & Quality Management programs
- Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production or fermentation performance records and data
- Partner with quality assurance to facilitate corrections and corrective actions when needed by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending preventive measures
- Clearly communicates area status with the Operations Manager
- Other Duties as Required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Advanced Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel▪
- Food Production Operations and Sanitation
- Knowledge of Personnel Safety and OSHA Regulations
- Understanding of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code or equivalent GFSI bench-marked food safety standard
