Contributes to the Bank’s financial position by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of SBA loans, including SBA loan applications, thereby contributing to loan growth, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Processes SBA residential, and commercial loan applications, ensures all necessary SBA documentation is accurate and complete, and provides support to underwriters, loan officers, and other personnel. Works to ensure that all regulatory and internal guidelines are adhered to, ensuring smooth loan processing from origination through post-closing.
Essential Functions
- Reviews SBA loan applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required SBA-specific documentation is included and that applications meet SBA eligibility requirements.
- Prepares SBA loan estimates, disclosures, and truth-in-lending forms within the required regulatory timeframe.
- Works with applicants to gather and review all required financial documents, including tax returns, corporate returns, tax schedules, and other documents needed to support SBA loan applications.
- Assesses the applicant’s sources of repayment and ensures adequate liquid funds to close the SBA loan.
- Prepares commitment letters, adverse action notices, and completes SBA-required forms and other regulatory documentation.
- Prepares SBA loan documents using SBA-compliant loan documentation software for new loans, renewals, modifications, extensions, and other related agreements.
- Communicates with applicants, brokers, and internal departments about SBA loan status and required documentation throughout the origination and review process.
- Coordinates with Director of SBA Lending, SBA loan closers, attorneys, and third parties to facilitate loan closings in accordance with SBA guidelines and timelines.
- Conducts post-closing reviews to ensure SBA loan documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with SBA regulations, including reviewing names, collateral descriptions, liens, and loan terms.
- Uploads SBA loan documentation to the tracking system for ongoing monitoring and management.
- Reviews loan applications for SBA eligibility, processes applications, and assists in resolving any issues to secure SBA loan approval.
- Manages SBA fee processing, ensures compliance with SBA regulations, and supports loan servicing and lending personnel with monitoring and managing SBA loans.
Ancillary Functions
- Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed.
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Physical Demands

This job is mostly sedentary in nature, but may occasionally involve lifting files and other materials that weigh up to 20 lbs. Employees in this job must be able to work in an office environment during regular business hours where they come into regular and frequent contact with internal and external customers and other members of the public.
