About the Position
We are searching for a Business Development Specialist to join our growing Life Science & Industrial team. This position can be located in any of Pond’s Continental U.S. offices and has the potential to be remote.
This position would support our sales and business development functions through lead generation, prospecting, qualifying potential customers, conducting research and managing outreach tracking. The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of related experience and is seeking a position as a self-starter where they can grow, collaborate, and innovate. Business development at Pond can span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets.

Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM field (Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or a combination of other degree/education and preferred, related industry experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a sales-related role OR a technical role with the desire to transition into a sales role
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel as well as other Microsoft Office Suite products
- Ability to identify, generate, and qualify sales leads within target industries
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Understanding of how to generate and qualify new leads through proactive outreach (cold calling, email, LinkedIn) with minimal oversight
- Highly organized in order to build, manage, and maintain lead lists and prospecting databases
- Attention to detail related to tracking and documenting outreach activities and results to ensure detailed records are maintained in CRM and spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally at Pond and externally to potential clients
- Comfortable calling on leads ranging from external cold calling to inter-company communications
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, results-driven
- Desire to learn, grow, and collaborate
- Ability to travel roughly 5% of the time for necessary business functions
- Prior experience in sales, business development, or lead generation
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as AEC 360, Deltek Vantagepoint CRM, or Salesforce
- Previous use of tools such as ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or other related platforms
- Familiarity with environmental engineering, medical sterilization, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical and/or refinery, methane emission control, air quality, or water quality industries is a plus
