Job Summary: Pono Security is seeking an experienced and driven individual responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing contracts through various procurement channels. You will work with local, county, state, and federal procurement sites as well as dedicated platforms like BidNet to find relevant RFPs, government contracts, and bid opportunities that align with Pono Security’s service capabilities. This role is key to our growth strategy, contributing directly to our revenue by ensuring successful bidding and contract acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:
- RFP Identification and Analysis:
- Monitor various procurement sites (local, county, state, federal) and platforms like BidNet for relevant security service RFPs and government contracts.
- Analyze RFP requirements to assess alignment with Pono Security’s capabilities and strategic goals.
- Stay updated on government procurement trends, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Bid Preparation and Submission:
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information, including pricing, service capabilities, and past performance details.
- Develop comprehensive and competitive bid proposals that meet the specific requirements of each RFP.
- Ensure that all proposals and documents are completed, reviewed, and submitted within the deadline.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, operations, and legal departments to ensure alignment on RFP strategies and compliance with legal and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from awarded contracts to the operations team for execution.
- Vendor and Client Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with procurement officers, contract managers, and other stakeholders across various government and procurement platforms.
- Proactively seek feedback on proposal submissions and work to continuously improve bid quality and competitiveness.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track success rates, win/loss ratios, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement and bidding activities.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline, bid status, and closed deals to senior leadership.
- Market Research and Strategy Development:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and areas where Pono Security can expand its services.
- Develop procurement strategies to improve win rates, optimize bid quality, and enhance our competitive positioning.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in procurement, business development, or a related field, preferably within government contracting.
- Familiarity with procurement platforms (BidNet, SAM.gov, local/state procurement sites).
- Strong understanding of RFP processes, government contracting, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work within tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality proposals.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, very organized, and capable of working independently as well as in a team setting.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Commission-Based Earnings: This is a commission-only role with no base salary. However, our lucrative commission structure allows top performers to earn up to $150,000 annually, based on a 13-period calendar. Commission-only employees must still meet federal or state minimum wage laws. If the commissions earned do not meet the minimum wage, the employer may be required to make up the difference.
