Pontchartrain MEP is looking for an Electrical Project Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of electrical projects within a construction setting, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all electrical standards and codes by managing project planning, team leadership, coordination with other trades, and client communication.
Key responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and work breakdown structures to effectively execute electrical projects.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of electricians, engineers, and subcontractors, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient collaboration.
- Budget Control: Monitor project expenditures, identify cost variances, and implement corrective measures to stay within budget constraints.
- Technical Oversight: Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations throughout the project.
- Coordination with Other Trades: Collaborate with other construction trades like plumbing, HVAC, and structural teams to coordinate project activities and avoid conflicts.
- Client Communication: Regularly update clients on project progress, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to verify installations meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address any issues promptly.
- Reporting: Prepare project status reports for stakeholders, including progress updates, budget analysis, and key metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 10 years field experience
- Proven experience in electrical project management within the construction industry
- Proficiency with project manager related software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications, PDF software, electrical design software, and Project Management Platforms
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Excellent project management skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and stakeholder management
