EDUCATION: High school equivalency degree; Must be able to read, write, speak, follow and give written and/or oral directions in English.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Prior experiences not required, but preferred; Must have a valid state driver’s license.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have working knowledge of clay court maintenance and resurfacing. Must understand how to roll, line, and water clay courts to Director’s and members’ satisfaction. Must have a knowledge of court maintenance machinery, including the Rainbird irrigation system, all accompanying safety features; and a working knowledge of court watering schedule.
JOB SUMMARY: Insure the proper playing conditions of the courts and all maintenance, and insure the aesthetic value of the grounds inside the fences of the Epping Forest Yacht Club tennis courts.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be physically fit; Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work light machinery; Must be able to work outside for 8-hour shifts in varying weather conditions; Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.

What you will be doing
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
- Must arrive to work on time, consistently.
- Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
- Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
- Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
- Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
- Be proficient on all appropriate equipment and safety features.
- Maintain the outdoor facility in clean, healthy, and proper playing condition.
- Greet members and guests by name whenever possible.
- Communicate frequently with members and guests concerning court conditions to insure their total satisfaction.
- Roll, line, and water the clay courts.
- Help implement the watering schedule and then follow it closely.
- Maintain, to include trimming, weeding, and replacing, the variety of plants and shrubs that line the tennis courts. Interact with the Grounds Foreman and Greenhouse Manager as needed.
- Order and inventory lines, nets, posts, and any other tennis court equipment deemed necessary for court operations. Word with Tennis Director to stay within the constraints of the operating and capital budgets.
- Check members and guests’ attire, report any nonconformity to Tennis Staff.
- Perform any other duties to help maintain excellent courts and a clean and safe working environment as assigned by the Tennis Director.
- Follow company safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
