Job Description
This Senior Environmental Specialist/Asbestos Investigator will play a crucial role in our company's growth, ensuring that all environmental/hazmat projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough asbestos and hazardous substance investigations, providing accurate documentation and recommendations.
- Work closely with project managers to oversee asbestos abatement projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze complex data and create detailed plans for safe and effective remediation, leveraging expertise in architectural and mechanical drawings.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, working in various environments, including offices and job sites.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness, adhering to protocols and wearing necessary protective gear when handling hazardous substances.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license and NYS Asbestos Inspector certification.
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrates at least 3 years of experience in asbestos inspections/investigations, with a solid understanding of state and city regulations.
- Is proficient in common software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Exhibits exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Has obtained OSHA 10-hr. and OSHA 30-hr. Construction Safety certifications.
- Certifications in NYSDOL Project Monitor, Designer, Mold Assessor, and EPA Lead Inspector are advantageous.
- Knowledge of CAD systems is also beneficial.
