What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Sitter/Dog Walker position at Pooches & Smooches Pet Sitting?
Pooches & Smooches offers in-home pet sitting and dog walking services in the southwest Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin areas. We are looking to hire a trustworthy pet sitter to care for pets while their owners are away on vacation or working long hours. Responsibilities include:
- Provide pet sitting services for various animals, including feeding, walking, and administering medications
- Handle animals with care and ensure their safety and well-being
- Taking pictures/videos of pets and writing report cards to send to pet owners.
- Watching for behavioral and/or health concerns and reporting them to the company
- Brushing and bathing dogs as well as trimming nails if requested
- Light housekeeping tasks such as watering plants, taking out trash, bringing in mail
Required Availability:
- Pet sitters must be available to stay overnight in their clients' homes at least two weeks of each month
- Must be available for midday visits between 10am and 4pm Monday – Friday, with some flexibility
- Occasional need to visit pets multiple times per day when owners are out of town, and therefore should be available for morning visits between 6am and 8am as well as evening visits between 6pm and 9pm
- Sitters are required to be available during spring break, fall break, and major holidays.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license
- Possess a reliable vehicle, not shared with anyone else
- Pet sitting or boarding background is beneficial
- Comfortable working with pets of all different breeds and sizes
- Excellent communication skills and customer service experience
- Capable of heavy lifting
Compensation:
- Sitters earn 50% commission on all services, plus an extra $10 per client on holidays
- Keep 100% of tips
- End of the year bonuses

Pay: $16.50 - $27.50 per hour
