Job Type: Part-time Seasonal (March to October)
Pay: $12.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience
Work Schedule: Flex Schedule: 3-5 hours per day/5-6 days a week on Mondays-Saturdays.
Store Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm

Environment: Predominantly indoors, occasionally outdoors assisting customers to vehicles with purchases.

Pool and Spa Express is a family-owned business that prides itself on its passion and expertise in pool and spa products and services. We are currently seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join our team in Tullahoma, TN. This position is integral to our operations, as it involves direct interaction with clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, particularly in a pool or home improvement environment, and will be responsible for providing excellent client service and support. A solid understanding of swimming pools, spas and water chemistry is ideal, but not required. Applicants with no experience and willing to learn will be trained.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
• Perform water balance testing for clients.
• Make recommendations to clients based on their needs.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately, efficiently and honestly using the cash register and POS system.
• Utilize basic math skills for retail math calculations and cash handling tasks.
• Provide information about pool and spa services, products, and promotions to enhance clients experience.
• Have a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and organized store environment and entrance, including dusting retail display shelves, vacuuming and other cleaning as needed.
• Assist in restocking shelves with products.
• Help clients with purchases and carry items to their cars upon request.
• Answer phones and provide customer support.
• Maintain and contribute to the good reputation of the company.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
• Comfortable interacting with clients and providing exceptional client support.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Proficient in phone etiquette and taking messages.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs needed to perform responsibilities.
• Previous retail sales experience and experience handling cash and card transactions using a cash register and POS system is preferred.
• Basic math skills required for handling transactions and retail math calculations.
• Experience with swimming pools, spas and knowledge of pool chemistry is preferred but not required.
